WTC Bazaar
December 17, 2007I was lucky to have caught the 10-day bazaar at the world trade center for a lot of cool stuffs were available at very low prices. Was able to grab some goodies for Christmas so my checklist is now more than half way completed.
Another plus factor was that we were able to have some chit chat with the celebs who had their own stalls there. WT and I even posed for vanity shots with the few who were kind enough to grant our request for picture-taking even though we didn’t buy anything from their stalls. Hehehe… the better-buys were actually sold by non-celebs, that’s why.
We have just finished scanning half of the stalls and we were already handful. That’s when we felt the need to go out and put everything that we have bought first in the car so we can continue visiting the rest of the stalls. We even took some pictures with the giant displays including The Transformers and V5. Take a look:
We had dinner at Pier 1, unfortunately, an officemate "Zhang" spotted us, so the next day, we were headliner in the office. Hence people were actually asking me "are you two back together?"
But the answer is a big "NO!"
Hair Care

Want to keep your hair fresh?
Then never shampoo your hair every day. I learned this some few years ago from a friend and then just recently, I watched a talkshow with Angel Aquino as one of their guests. She says affirmingly that shampooing your hair everyday will make it dry because the natural oil that makes the hair have a glossy look is being washed away when you shampoo. Shampoos can be done every other day, while you can have conditioners daily.
There are some people however, who have excessively oily scalp that just a day of not shampooing will make their hair look messy and super oily to the point that the strands stick together in clusters. For these people, all you have to do is to shampoo only your scalp and do not go all the way to the strands of your hair. This way, you are able to reduce the oil on your scalp while protecting the strands of the hair from getting dry.
See below, some of my pix showing my hair
Notice the end of the strands are a little dry so I sort of need to have them trimmed soon.
Just sharing.
Pimples? No way!
October 24, 2007
Take this… You have been preparing for this big day of your life for weeks. You’ve got a pair of new shoes to put on, a nice dress, complete set of accesories, everything… And then a day right before this much awaited occasion, you woke up and discovered a tiny red bump starting to appear on the edge of your upper lip–you’ve got a pimple!
What a no-no… especially when it appears in not just any part of your face but right on top of your nose, in between your brows or the worst part where i would want my pimple to be–at the edge of either lips. It’s so irritating to have a pimple appearing in the most exposed part of your face because you can really feel that anyone you’ve come to interact with will be staring in that pinky-patsy little pimple while talking to you.

The safeguard thing as a preventive cure against pimple was actually a tip from beauty queen Abegail Arenas. She had a talk one time in our company on corporate grooming and one of her tips was to use safeguard soap in the area where a pimple is starting to occur. I have tried it several times and it never fails, really! Just be careful not to use the soap for your entire face since it may cause dryness in skin, as we all know our face has more sensitive skin layer compared to the rest of our body. That’s why there are special facial cleansers that we should use to wash our face and not the regular bathroom soap that we use for our body. So use only safeguard IN THE AREA WHERE THE PIMPLE IS to help stimulate the drying process.
Having been so confident with my flawless face since i have safeguard to protect me against pimple, i got this so-wrong-timing pimple discovery when I was in the office, far from home where my safeguard is. Too bad since I would be attending a very special occasion in a few days thereafter. When I went to the comfort room for my after-lunch brushing, I saw it… a tiny-reddish bump at the corner of my lips. I was a little panicky already when an officemate handed me his (yep, a HE) clearasil overnight pimple treatment. You will just have to apply it right on top of the pimple, it will dry shortly after that like glue. After an hour or so, you can remove it as if peeling off your top-layer skin (not painful, really, just like removing dried glue when you apply it using your finger). And presto, the pimple filling goes with it already and nothing would remain on your face after 2 to 3 more times of applying it.
